3D Scanning FJ parts

Edit: what parts are hard to source that would be a good thing to build a mold for?

Side air scoops for all generations of FJ 1100/1200 and the small plastic covers that are on the inside of the windscreen at the top of the 3CV and 3XW fairings seem to be good candidates for reproduction to me.

My local public library has 3D printers.  They will print your 3D file for cheap, although sizes are somewhat limited.  
They will also teach people how to do the 3D printing job, if there is enough interest at any one time.
I had them print some bike parts for me - mirror extension pads for another bike; each one was palm-sized.
The 3D file I needed was a free download from the Internet.
Rather than make them hollow (weak), or solid (heavy and expensive), the library guy filled the inside with a latticework.
This trick cross-braced the exterior shells in every dimension, using as much or as little air as I wanted inside, by percentages.
The results were light and strong.
They were printed in Nylon, so they should stand up to weather very well.  I will paint them, anyway.
The out-the-door price for two was less than US$ 10.00 so I'm a happy camper.
The commercial equivalents would have cost maybe ten times as much, and then add shipping and handling charges.
