Hi!

One of the downpipes on my FJ 1100 rotted out so I ordered used ones from a 3CW. Those I ordered have no numbers on them, so my question for you 3 CW owners is do yours have the numbers? For example, old ones on 1100 are marked 36Y-1, 2 3, 4.

If i remeber right the 1200 downpipes does not fit a 1100 but i might be wrong.

The pipes fit all years, and position (1-2-3-4) is important.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

If you ordered used Yamaha oem header pipes they will be numbered 1-2-3-4.....not sure with aftermarket header tubes.
If you are using aftermarket header tubes they are meant to be used with aftermarket collectors.
Note that the single wall stainless (painted) header tubes used on '86-95 FJ's will look different than the double wall black chrome plated header tubes used on the '84/85. I'm not sure I would mix the two different types.
All oem Yamaha FJ header tubes can be used interchangeably.

I managed to find the numbers in the end, barely visible. In the end the pipes I've bought are 1TX, but that changes nothing. I've put only number 3 on. It is a bit smaller in the outer diameter, but if you don't know what you're looking at, difference is not very obvious.

All 4 of the pipes will have a 1TX and a corresponding cylinder number. They are located in the same spot on each pipe. A little bit of sand paper may help.

Yep, or a bright sunlight in my case.
