When doing the conversion over the the FZ1 blue dot front calipers, do you have to change the master cylinder as well? I see were some recommend a different, assuming larger, MC but I was hoping to just switch out the caliper and use new SS brake lines.

Also, I've seen a couple on eBay where the blue anodized area looks to be a little scratched up. I'm assuming there is no real fix for that other than to paint them some other color?

Your OEM master cylinder will work just fine. Many like to pair the Blue Dots with the associated Master.

I recommend the Spiegler braided brake lines. The ends are able to be turned as needed. You will need to turn one end of the line when doing the install.

It's easy to swap the master. Then you get the full benefit of more awesome brakes!

Yes, the stock master will work with the monoblocks...but...it is not the best. The stock FJ master uses a 5/8" diameter piston (16mm) which results is a wooden feel at the lever when used on the blue spots. The blue spots are designed to use a 14mm master cylinder (or 15mm when used on ABS bikes) The smaller 14mm piston results in stronger line pressure (need only two fingers) and a longer lever travel, thus a better feel at braking thresholds.

Since my ABS is currently inop anyways anyone use a 14mm MC with the stock calipers?
