I'm going to need so new mirrors on a '91 FJ. What are the suggestions? I would prefer to get a little longer and/or slightly higher ones than OEM if I can. I'm supposed to get my FJ soon and when I went to go look and sat on the one I'm going to buy, all I could see were my elbows.

I highly recommend a set of 2007-2009 Bandit 1250S mirrors
I had them on my FJ and they worked very well. Looked good and gave a better than average view to the rear.
You do have to elongate the mount holes in the mirror base

Are these what you are suggesting? I watched a video last night where someone took some VFR 750 mirrors and had to slightly open up one of the mounting wholes. I'm assuming that would be the same type of mod for these mirrors.

Cavernan. I found the CBR600 and CBR1000 mirrors to fit well with no modifications.

But I admire viewing my left shoulder!
odd that the left seems worse, is that just me?

Not just you. They are functional and don't vibrate. In retrospect, I did like the factory mirrors but they rattled and started to delaminate.

I recommend the longer shaft version.

Anyone ever try swapping stock mirrors left to right?  looks like they might stick out a bit further (and sit lower) swapped.

Hey Fred,

I sent you an email with a question about the Bandit mirrors.

I got my Suzuki Bandit mirrors in and finally got the OEM mirrors off. I was able to re-use the OEM mounts but with the Bandit arms and mirrors by putting an extra washer in the bolt area of the mount. That way I didn't have to use or alter the Bandit's mount. I definitely like the wider length of the mirrors and I think they look pretty good. The only downside I have at the moment is that they vibrate when the bike is running so the mirror doesn't project a clear image. It's not horrible projection but I would prefer it so be clearer. I haven't ridden it yet with the mirrors because I'm waiting to have new tires put on in a few days. It's possible that I might need to really crank down on the fairing mount screws which is probably why they were so hard to get off in the first place. I'm just a little concerned if I do that I will crack the fairing. Anyone have any suggestions on what I might be able to do to remove some of the vibration out of the mirror? BTW, yes, I did use the rubber gasket that were under the OEM mounts.

Sync the carbs to stop vibrations.

Supposedly already done. That does remind me that I need to get that video from the guy that restored the bike.
