Hey folks, I can't believe it's already February.....any thoughts on having a get together this year?
We typically meet the weekend after Memorial Day which would be June 2nd thru the 4th.

I personally would like to go up to Oregon and visit Frank & Diane, I missed their last get together.

Open for suggestions!

I suggest you get your butt up here then...

We're more familiar with the area now and have more options identified for lodging.  One of the best rides from here is McKenzie Pass and early June is marginal for it being open.  Shaniko to Fossil will be open and could even be ridden a couple times (amazing road!).  Anyway, we'd be happy to have another get together in our neighborhood...  Let's use this thread as a measure of interest and then I can identify some options for group lodging.

Travis had identified Buck's Lake as a possible option as well...  and we're happy to come that way.  Been too long since we had a proper WCR!

I will be glad to see a WCR this year. I will do my best to make it, hopefully nothing comes up.

I sure do miss an old-school WCR, but I'll be far, far away come June...enjoy!!

Sorry June is a no go for me - off to UK again.
Could do a mid August one here in Napa?

I would be interested in attending a rally. We had a great time and good riding up by Frank's in Oregon. I spent a few days around Bucks lake last June and it was very nice. This year they have a lot of snow at the moment. it's usually good by early June but if we get heavy snow again there is a small chance of lingering snow. In June of 2020 and 2022 the weather was in the low 80's.
If attendance look to be small again it might be fun to do a traveling rally and do a ride up the coast. Maybe Fort Bragg up to Newport or something.

Hey Travis, Paul Lawson and I did that trip last year. We stayed in Santa Rosa, visited some family, then left early the next day rode 101 up to Lake Sonoma, then out Skaggs Springs road to Stewards Point, then up Hwy 1 thru Point Arena, Manchester, Fort Bragg then Leggett and back to the 101, spent the night in Garberville. It was an enjoyable ride. Astonishingly very little north bound traffic on Hwy 1. That is always a gamble on Hwy 1 with the RV'ers and trailers....I was surprised we got all the way up to Garberville in one long day.
Next day we went up the 101 to Fortuna, then back east on Hwy 36 all the way over the Sierra's to Susanville then 395 back to Carson City.  We call it, the big loop.....

Ian and I traveled quite a few of the same roads the last three days of September. We took off on a Tuesday afternoon and drove down I-80 to Hwy 20 then down hwy 20 to Fort Bragg and spent the night. The next morning we drove up 101 to 36 and 36 to Redbluff with many stops along the way. The third day we rode down 36 and took hwy 89 to Quincy then 70 to Hwy 395 and on back to Reno. It was a great trip lots of giant redwoods. I didn't see any other FJ's on the trip.

I would also really love to get back to a WCR.............
This year however, I have some family stuff and a couple other things going on that have my summer plans on hold temporarily.
I would not be able to make a June Rally this year.

I do hope that folks are able to put one together though. It makes me happy to see the FJ-crews gathering together for the good-times! :drinks:
