Planning to buy a new rear tire .I have not tried avon storm 3d before .Does anyone know if it is more sticky that the pirelli sport demon ?  i want the most sticky tire out there
I remember that many years ago i was using Michelin and it was very slippery ,but maybe newer Michelins are softer? I once had pirelli phantom on another bike and  they was
very sticky but they dont sell them in 150 80 16

There's lots of good feedback on here and on FB forums about the Avon Storm tyres - Alf certainly uses his to the max and I believe recommends them.

But.....if you want the stickiest tyres, then why not do a simple wheel change (like the YZF 600R Thundercat), which gives you access to the latest 17" radial tyres, at a minimal cost?

'89 FJ 1200 3CV - no engine, tank, seat....parts bike for the future.

'88 FJ 1200 3CV - became a race bike, no longer with us.
'86 FJ 1200 1TX - sold to my boss to finance the '89 3CV I still own.

For the oem 150/80-16 size, the Avon Storm 3D is a great tire, but discontinued by Avon.
The new Avon offering is the Spirit ST.

If you keep the 150/80-16 donut, the Avons are the best you're going to get IMHO.

As Dean correctly points out, a whole new galaxy of options opens up with a 17" rim conversion.

Hi Dean ! way back in my head i think i remember reading some good stuff about the avon storm tyres on the forum  i think it was Pat that had some good word about them.
Yes i have been temted for a long time to do the 17 inch wheel mod ,but i have decided that the bike i have now is going to bee kept mostly original. I have a plan now and that is
to buy another FJ that i will make into a streetfighter with all the mods i possibly can.I have the last week been trying to find a FJ for sale here i Norway .Usually there are some for sale but
right now there is non advertized but it is still snow outside so i guess i find one when spring is on its way.
