Got a bit of rust in the tank so I was going to use Evapo-rust.  This stuff is supposedly pretty benign, but is it ok with leaving the fuel sender in the tank?

Pat Conlon

As a general rule: Never leave a sender in your tank with *any type* of rust treatment.

Any oxide type coatings may dissolve along the rust (oxide). Best not to take any chances.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

I left mine in. Clean as a whistle and worked fine.

When was that cleaning done? How many miles (estimated)? If you have gone 3 or 4 tanks then it might be just fine.
