90 vs 91 Inner Fork Tube

Hi, I think I know the answer to this query but here goes. Are the 87 and 91 (Non ABS) inner fork tubes interchangeable? The reason for my question is simple. I am rebuilding a 87 FJ1200 and already had the inner tubes hard chromed. However, I have scored a complete 90 model front end but the inner tubes need to be hard chromed or replaced.
I don't fancy spending more dollars redoing the process again.

G'day Menna562,

I'm pretty confident they are the same. I have an 85 1100 with a 90 front end. One of the inners is from the original forks.

You can tell the difference because the later model inners are the same od all the way, whereas the earlier model ones are machined to have a slightly smaller od between the top and bottom triple clamps.

The 94 and 91 are different lengths.
