I am a new owner of an FJ1200.  I rode the bike this morning for 10-15 miles.
Let it sit for a few hours then NO POWER when key is turned on.
***I replaced the battery with a new one***  No change
I crossed the started relay and it cranks the motor over.
Fuses are good.

What else should I check?

No power?  Not even the headlight?

no headlight   nothing

Main Earth to Loom...... This Earth is on Bottom mounting bolt of Ignition Coils...There is no other earth to wiring loom that I could see.
There is and the main earth to back of engine but from there its via frame to Ignition coil bolt

Well, the easiest thing for me to check was the ignition switch.  After screwing with it i now have power and I rode my bike today.  After I empty this tank or a rainy day I will check most of the connections.

Thank you all.

I 2nd what Randy said.

I currently have an FJ that is in the exact same state. Turn the key on and NOTHING. No headlight, no gauges... obviously no starting. :ireful:

My switch is the European/Australian four wire type.
Simple diagnosis was.... disconnect the key switch connector and using a jumper wire between the Red and Brown wires gave me all the lights and the bike started..... Brand new key switch has been ordered.

Fred
I'm not the fastest FJ rider, I am 'half-fast', the fastest slow guy....

That explains why i could not separate the connector.  I'll be ordering from Randy.
