Hello all
There is a diagram in the manual where you see pliers yanking on the rubbers that hold on the plate just behind the carbs...I have tried several means to get these rubbers to engage the plate but to no avail I am now thinking of fabbing pliers to squeeeze the plate back and rubber with a kind of cut-away socket on the front so I can reach in while squeezing and pull the ends through.. I don't want to go to this trouble if the accepted method is to yank on the rubber until it passes all the way through. I am worried that I bust the rubber keepers.

It's a hot environment for a 38 year old rubber part....I pulled on mine and they snapped apart.

A quick call to Robert at RPM and he took good care of me.

OK     Stupid me use the thermal air delivery device to get the carbs on.... worked a charm to get the baffle plate on as well. Thanks Chiz.
