As the rain stopped and the weather warmed up today, I took the old FJ out for her final ride of 2021.

Just a brief 60 miles around where I live, with a visit to Naseby (site of the pivotal battle of the English Civil War) and to a friends farm to hopefully catch a look at his new (to him) 840bhp Dodge Challenger Demon....... He wasn't home, so I could only see the car in the distance. The roads were still wet and they were very dirty, with lots of mud, so the FJ ended up filthy - and it won't get cleaned now until next year !!

Here's hoping 2022 brings even more miles and even more smiles for me and my FJ than 2021  :good2:

Happy New Year everyone, Ride far, Ride Safe  :good2: :good2:

Cool, I wasn't aware you Brits would go for something like a Dodge Demon...or even that they would sell them over there.  In a few years these will likely go the way of the DoDo bird.  I feel sorry for our grand kids...stuck in their electric golf carts....... :dash2:

Yes, some people do. Rich has always had a soft spot for American Muscle Cars. My pal and FJ racer/mechanic Steve has a 2020 Mustang 5.0 V8 and my neighbours wife has just got a new one as her school run car. That V8 rumble at 8.30 every morning is a joy to listen to  :sarcastic:

just one more question for curious uninformed  (me).   Do they make these muscle cars right hand drive as well?  In my opinion this has to be the golden age for muscle ICE cars.  It's never going to be this good again.  Buy one (or more) and put them in the barn for the grand kids.  Better investment than gold or stocks.   :flag_of_truce:

Especially, collectible, will be the hellcats and demons from Mopar. Dodge was bought last year by Stellantis, a merger of FCA and Peugeot. They have recently announced they are killing off the charger and challenger series for a more environmentally friendly hybrid/electric lineup. They have yet to announce a replacement for the muscle cars but from what I have read from the CEO they are planning a "big reveal". Who knows what that means....

I do know the last year they made the Dodge Viper was 2017 and they were Msrp of around 120k. If you garaged one and kept it low miles I have been seeing them pop up for 200k plus recently. I don't know if they are selling for that much but they seem to be not listed for long.

Thankfully yes, they do come in RHD here, but I'm not sure whether the Demon was originally a factory purchase here in RHD, or a private import with LHD, but I'll find out when I pop across to see Rich again on Wednesday.

There are 4 Mustangs I know of locally, and all are RHD, as are the 2 Chrysler 300's. I think I'm very lucky with the eclectic mix of cars amongst my friends and neighbours here, but I must admit the 2 300's are widely known mockingly as the "pimp-mobiles"

I'd guess it's going to be their Electric Muscle Car

They already announced they will have an electric muscle car. However, in an interview I watched a month or so ago CEO Of Dodge Tim Kuniskis said they are announcing "an electric muscle car, a plug in hybrid model, and a third significant vehicle."

He has also been receiving death threats, about the discontinuation of NA power in the Mopar lineup, from what I have read.

Some people take their petrol sipping too seriously, I suppose.

That is a handsome car there Moto.

The newer SRT 8 Chrysler 300 that Daimler Chrysler put out was a pretty beefy boy. 470hp, big red Brembo brakes, not half bad looking either. I think they may have listed the weight as a metric shit ton, though.

Yours may not have been, but the more recent 300C's (as in the photo below) are definitely viewed that way here !!!!!  I've also seen the higher spec models described as looking like "a tart's handbag", if you'll excuse the vernacular.
