1993 Yamaha FJ1200   70,400 miles   $4500
I absolutely love this bike but it's set up for long-distance travel. This is the bike that I rode to the FJ Rally in Ouray in 2017. It runs brilliantly (I collected two performance awards from Officer Opie on that trip...) But for various reasons, the role of a long-distance traveling machine has been taken over by my Super Tenere. So, time to sell...

Mods:
5.5 x 17 rear wheel (from XJR1200)
3.5 x 17 FZR front wheel with Blue Dot calipers, new rotors and wheel bearings
Penske rear shock with remote reservoir
Hepco & Becker luggage rack with side cases and Pelican top case.
Rear turn signal bracket mod to handle the weight of the side cases.
RPM handlebar risers
RPM oil cooler
RPM oil filter adapter
RPM carburetor screw kit
Fork protectors
Lithium battery
ABS delete

Maintenance:  2300 miles since...
Replaced tires (Shinko 016 Verge)
Replaced chain (DID 530 ZVMX) and sprockets (18/40)
Replaced bearing in rear sprocket carrier
Overhauled front & rear brake calipers
Replaced rear brake pads and rotor
Filled brakes and clutch systems with DOT5 Silicone Fluid
Adjusted valves
Replaced spark plugs
Changed front fork oil (10W-30 motor oil)
Changed rear shock oil and bled (10W fork oil)

Comes With:
Original Owners Manual and tool kit, all keys.
Fresh oil and filter change, new fuel filter and carb overhaul (July 2021)
Clear title, registration good until Jan 2022.

This bike needs absolutely nothing. You can fly in and ride it home across the country. Yes, I know that $4500 is a lot of money for an FJ but you couldn't buy a bike and duplicate all of these mods for that amount. Oh, I take it back... there is one thing that needs to be done. The hand grips need to be changed. There's nothing wrong with them; they just don't match. And of course, they must match...

Side note 1: After the rally in Ouray, I rode to Leadville and stayed with some friends for a few days. When that visit was over, I headed home. I hadn't planned to do it, but it worked out to be a non-stop ride... Leadville, Colorado to Rosamond, California. 930 miles in 17 hours. That's the kind of miles this bike can lay down.

Side note 2:  Oh, and why Warhorse? The previous owner named it that. When I questioned him about his choice of names, he said that it was because the bike always, always got him home. And it did the same for me. I hope the bike goes to someone who can appreciate that.

I know nothing about the chin fairing; it was on the bike when I got it.  Fred Greenlee said that the previous owner made it by cutting down an aftermarket full lower. But that's all I know.

The lower cowling started as an aftermarket full lower faring. I do not have knowledge of the brand. Jon Fife cut the cowling down to look like the Lockhart Phillips 3/4 lower that was made back in the 80's and 90's for the FJ1100. He modeled it after my adaptation of an 1100 cowling to my FJ1200.

Someone asked me about the instrument panel area and what it looked like (damage, cracks, etc.)  So since I can't figure out how to attach a photo to a PM, I'll post them here. You can also see the mis-matched handgrips...

Here are two photos of the tank, showing the complete lack of any dents or scratches. Original paint, AFAIK.
