The kiss of death for Harley's EU market....perhaps the straw that breaks the camel's back?

We've seen this before...easy to see what's coming.....better buy those BMW's and KTM's soon.

They must think you're in danger if doing a trade deal with us..................at least the U.K. market is still available to HD.  :good2:      Not that they're particularly suited to our roads and topography.   :sarcastic:

Not too sure about that...I thought there were countries in the UK that were still in the EU...like Ireland and Scotland, so I would assume the EU tariff should also apply to HD in those areas?
With Brexit, I would think the HD tariff would not apply in England.

I really don't care about HD, but imports from England are more important. When the shit hits the fan, Triumph motorcycles should not suffer retaliation on sales in the USA.

The whole UK went out.

And Ireland is not a part of the UK since 1922.

Don't believe all the rubbish you read on the internet Pat - that's all just sour grapes by the SNP - but as an aside I'm surprised that the understanding of our nations make up is still not so well known across in the US. At least we Brits all know the USA has 52 states, including Canada and Mexico  :sarcastic: :sarcastic: (apologies to our Canadian and Mexican members....it was a joke  :good2:).

England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland (the countries that make up the UK) are ALL out of the EU and as much as Nicola Sturgeon wants it, Scotland WILL NOT be allowed back in (they are a million miles from meeting the entry criteria). The EU were and have been crystal clear that Brexit covered ALL NATIONS of the UK.

The Scottish people voted to remain a part of the UK (which was a major blow to Nicola Sturgeon - she has spent the 7 years since, trying to overturn the vote of the Scottish people) shortly before the Brexit vote, and it most recently is the Scottish MP's (the vast majority of which are of Sturgeon's party) who are the ones saying Scotland should remain in the EU. There was NEVER a Scottish vote o EU membership and after the EU Coronavirus vaccination fiasco/shenanigans, I doubt there are many people in Scotland today who would vote to stay in the EU, even if there was the remotest chance (which there isn't) that the EU would let them in.

Eire/Ireland are not part of the UK (they even have the Euro as their currency) and joined the EU as an entity on their own and we're never part of the Brexit scenario.

HD's can still find a safe haven in England, Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland, free from punitive and unfair tariffs.

Triumph are safe, but I'll bet BMW, Mercedes, VW/Audi and hence Ducati are VERY worried about the impact this will have on their potential sales in to the US.

My pal Dave (with the Multistrada) has just ordered the new Triumph 660, so no doubt I'll find out more about it in the coming weeks.

He thinks his wife will be riding it the most, as she took a real shine to it when she saw it in the flesh (he'll probably end up selling her Kawasaki Versys 650).

Bill Bryson is a well known American author and possibly it's most experienced and published travel writer. While fiercely patriotic, his does not allow this to blind him to American's unique take on the rest of the world and it's a subject he has written about many times over the years. It makes entertaining reading, as do all his books, articles and reviews.

Northern Ireland yes, but Ireland - no.  :hi:

Millietant explained it, but this is not the point of the topic anyway.

The USPS does not even recognize Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales as separate countries. We used to get customers asking frequently if we can ship there, because it will only give the option to select the UK and not an individual country within it.

I now have the ability to have them selectable via our website but when I print the tag it will be printed as UK.

Just a weird postal service fact.

I haven't Noel, Michelle is the only person I know who has one and I've never felt the urge to ask for a go on it. But.......I know she loves the smaller lighter feeling of the Triumph, even if it isn't any lighter, maybe just less top heavy with it being a "naked".

The same is when I try to ship to USA, i.e. it is the same amount of money whether I ship to NY or CA. If that's what you meant.
