R.I.P. Dave Crowley 8/18/2020 (GS Jockey)

I found out today the Dave Crowley has passed away as a result of his cancer earlier this month.

If you recall Dave lost his right arm to cancer back in early 2019. He was vigilant and positive even though the cancer had taken so much from him.

He went so far to convert his FJ to left hand drive only and was successful in getting back on his FJ with just one arm. Here is the post of his come back to the FJ: Fairly (H)armless which included the video of his first ride.

If anyone in the UK is available to help with his last ride see the details below for his funeral details.

God Speed and RIP Dave.

RIDERS WANTED!

Anyone that can spare their time, would be much appreciated!

Dave Crowley's funeral will be Saturday 5th September.

Start fromJ.J. Martin Funeral Directors, 1 Long Lane, Sedbergh, Cumbria, LA10 5AL

The funeral procession will leave Sedbergh at 11am and will be stopping at Devils bridge from 11.30 to 11:50, then will continue on down the A65 to Brocklands Woodland Burial ground near Settle.
Anyone (bikes) can follow the coffin at any point.
Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions only a very limited number of people may attend the actual burial.

Would be good to have a few FJ's there for his final send off....

Understandable if people want to meet at devils bridge and convoy from there..

Thanks to all that can participate...

It's a couple of hundred miles of motorway away from me and I have a family "thing" on Friday night, but if I can make it there on the FJ, I will.

Sad news, I've had conversations with Dave on the UK forum, always informative and wanting to give you answers.
Then to see him setting up his bike to ride after losing his arm, WOW, so much life in him.

RIP Dave

Sounds like they got a little rain, but there was good participation for Dave's final ride.

Hi All,

Circumstances at home prevented me from attending Dave's funeral, but I've been in touch with his family and passed on the thoughts, wishes, condolences and admiration for Dave expressed by everyone here.

Linda was very grateful and thankful of your thoughts and even seemed to be a little surprised at the scope of Dave's network and the distant friendships. I think it shows we can all make a difference  :good2:

RIP Dave.
