15.5v max output at the battery.

It's been a good day, old bike is running and starting to look good.

Beautiful bike Steve, glad she's running well.

Yep, @15.5 volts you're ready for an adjustable Transpo IB301A

Your sealed AGM battery and light bulbs will thank you.

Cheers

ps check your red plug.....

Pat, I checked the red plug, it's fused or glued together. May just replace it while I'm playing :)
Thank you, sincerely!

I believe you Sir, are correct.

A good crimp is like a good weld.

Still tests high, but we know this is not an issue.

Red connector requires destruction to be pulled apart...

Steve, that brown wire is the field wire that reads the battery voltage to tell your voltage regulator (VR) how much charging current to let thru to the battery. If the ohm resistance on this brown wire circuit is too high, the battery voltage will read lower than actual, and thus your VR will think that the battery needs more charging current than it really needs.
Check this circuit for bad connections.

Regardless, the Transpo VR is adjustable.....if you set it to 14.4 volts, that's all the voltage the VR will let through to charge the battery...no more 15+ volt shenanigans.

Cheers

External adjustable regulator coming out of Chicago - Should be here in a couple days.

Thanks again - Now I think I'll go for a ride, already 90F degrees here!
