We may not have mountains or curvy roads. We do get clouds like I have never seen anywhere else.

Impressive. I'm glad it's not a horizonal tornado.

It's produced by a "Rolling Front".
I've only ever seen this happen a couple times in my life.
Once in Arizona, and once in Colorado.

This phenomenon makes a reliable appearance in Northern Australia for a couple of months of the year, gliders and hang gliders come from all over to "surf" them. It has the unfortunate name of "Morning Glory"

The one in Fred's photo looks like it might be a bit more storm related.

Noel,

Hang gliding on the rising side of Australia's amazing "MG" clouds is one of my "bucket list" goals.
I know, retrieval of my glider and me at the far end would be an issue, but hey, it's a fine dream for this old HG pilot.
Not sure I'd like to tackle that roll cloud in Kansas, though.  Storm-driven winds can be nasty and unpredictable.  D.A.M.H.I.K.     :bye2:
.
Cheers,
Red

P.S. Life is too short, and health is too valuable, to ride on cheap parade-duty tires.
