Hi, my name's Lee. I live in Parker CO. Not quite regular riding season here yet, but I get out when I can.  I have an '84 FJ11 with 26K on the clock. I'm the second owner (bought it in '88).  It's in very nice shape, been garaged since new. Jets and K&N filters, & Supertrapp slip-ons are the primary mods.  Have a Corbin seat, a taller smoked screen, and Braking rotors replaced the fronts when they got close to spec. It's silver/red, busted chin spoiler, and no significant 2nd gear issues - yet.  Needs a few things, and I recently experienced an electrical gremlin affecting headlight and charging (ugh).

I also have a 2001 Bandit 1200S, so I have been riding it more over the last few years.

Good to find the site, thanks in advance for all the help I expect I'll get!

Glad to hear from you Lee, sounds like your bike is in good shape and has been taken care of,
a little TLC and they sure don't look their age.

Welcome to the MC club that says KOOKALOO!!!! We love helping others keep their FJ's purring and roaring at the same time. This group has helped me a lot with advise, opinions (good and bad), even some loaned parts and tools. Sounds like you might already have the affliction of "Moditis" (improving/upgrading your bike to keep it fast and somewhat modern). Lots of good mods for the 84/85 year to keep it nimble in the corners.  :drinks: Cheers Quicklee.

Lee-

Welcome.  The snow will go away, in great riding is in front of you I predict.

I bought my ill-fated '85 FJ1100 (twist-tie those "L" fittings off the bottom of the pet-cock, connected to the fuel line boys!) at Faye-Meyers in Greenwood Village, CO.  for $2600 back in '98, it had the second gear issue, which they paid to have fixed after I brought it back and complained.  Took them a bit of persuasion it probably should not have but ultimately they stood behind their product.

Anyhow, I miss the mountains as a riding playground, those were good times.  The FJ seemed to be made for those roads.  Estes park, and the various passes were such great riding!

Enjoy and appreciate what you have in your back yard, not all of us do.

Cheers!

Dan
