So I left the house this morning to meet up with a friend for a ride. Beautiful weather, just to good of a day to not ride. We rode about 200 miles, the Fj was running really good (maybe the last tank of sea foam kicked in) bike was running much smoother and cooler then it has been... plenty of power (looked even faster pulling away from his 800 v twin). I was about 8 miles from home when I lost all power and she died. Pulled over and cranked and cranked   Nothing.  Stupid me left my tool kit home. Thankfully a guy who lived across the road came out to help... popped the tank off and my vacuum line to the petcock had come off. Put her back on cranked til the bowls filled and fired right up...... lesson learned don't forget your tool kit.   It was nice to see people out there are still willing to lend a hand to a stranger. Never did catch his name but very much grateful I didn't have to call the tow truck

Just for future reference, the "Prime" position on the petcock is for refilling the carbs without the need to wind the motor over with the starter.
My apologies if you already knew this.
   Regards, Pete.

Easy on the road repairs are rare.  You were fortunate.  Isn't there supposed to be a spring clamp to keep that vacuum line on?

I apparently don't have any clamps on there but I'm going to pick up a new vacuum hose and clamps after work.

I didn't realize there was a prime position thank you for the tip

I did luck out and all in all it was a great day
