I took apart the rear wheel and hub on my 85 FJ1100 for some routine maintenance.  I saw that my spacers may not have been in the right way to begin with as I picked up the bike used over a year ago.  I can't really tell by the parts diagram which way the they sit in the sprocket hub and wheel - whether or not the lip of each spacer should face out or in toward the bearing.  Can anyone positively advise as to which way the lip of the spacers goes in the rear wheel assembly.  Thanks as always!

The lip should go in to press on the ID of the bearing.

Thank you. I appreciate the response. Though, the raised portion of the thicker spacer is quite a bit wider than the inner race of the bearing. Can someone who takes these bikes apart regularly chime in as well?

It doesn't need to match the width of the inner race, it just doesn't need to contact the outer race of the bearing.

So it's turned down enough to prevent contact with the outer race.
