how long are front steel braided brake lines pair vs splitter

i saw universal ones on ebay will they fit?, are all ends the same?


trying to go with a 2 line set up , since i heard the fork brace i got "could" touch the splitter and lose  brake function and i am not into that at all

this is a stock fork set up and i may go with superbike bars( since i miss my XS1100 begging dog position ) and i'll add length accordingly, if that is the case

will corbin seats make the ride more upright?, i source one locally but man they want a lot and idk if it's worth it to keep throwing money at this bike that's never gona be worth more than 2500-2900 tops, guess i can alway sell it separate




and yeah i learn the technique to get it up on the center stand now, without getting a hernia flare up

You're absolutely right about the fork brace hitting the splitter. I had it happen no more than 2 weeks ago, and the banjo bolt was weeping fluid.

As for the Corbin, heres's my two cents. Yes,your riding will be more upright, but not enough to make a huge difference. As I hear tell, if you want a more upright ride, get some bar risers, and that will ease the burden a lot. Also, do not go to a Corbin seat if you are over 6 ft, because it makes for some cramping hips after about a hundred miles for me ( at 6'4").

For the brake lines, yes, they seem to be fairly universal, but make sure that you get lines with connectors to match. Ex, on my 85, I got a set that had a straight connector for the rear brake, and it wouldn't seat right because the OEM lines have a fitting with a 45 degree bend. Others that know more will hopefully follow though.

I replaced mine that i got RPM. I have a 1986 and the 2 line set from a 1988-94 worked for me.

oh wow, i am 5'7" and super light, maybe with my .85 racetech front spring with 15 weight,  i  hope i don't bottom out  like you did, but it would no be good, if i was a long way from  proper tools and or help

i guess i would have to see which way  i was going before springing for new hoses, i could measure them and added on to it.

i got the bike dialed in and i rode it and inspired confidence, not scary anymore, so i may not even raised the bars... we'll see, thanks for your input sir

i was wondering if it had the "slack" to reach superbike bars..... is yours stock clip ons? and does it look like alot of slack?

To be fair, I only bottomedbecauseits time for a fork rebuild, so you should be fine. I'm just saying it CAN happen

Give a call to RPM.   They can order the lines in any length you need - if you want 2" longer than stock for example.
