At the recent WCR. I was asked to try and come up with a hat that used an image from a past Rally t-shirt. Here is my first attempt using a Flex-Fit style hat.

Nice first try Fred...  I'll take one of each!  Background on the request is this was the design of the shirt for the 2011 hayfork rally and still my favorite...  AC/DC inspired, covers both 1100 and 1200, and nice double entandre on the "Legends" thing (legendary bikes and powering "Legends" race cars).

I was hoping LA Mike was going to make it this year so I could get him excited about making a second Hayfork shirt...  but the hat fits my needs better anyway and this style of hat in particular is my favorite ball cap (as opposed to the "trucker" style with the big forehead billboard...  my head's big enough already).  This hat could also become a regular item in RPM's catalog perhaps...

Disappointed that "I Break for Legends" never made it to a t-shirt.  :-)

This is a serious question David, half likely out of ignorance to the significance, but why is the term "break" in the quote - presumably there's a story ?? (that I don't know about).

I would guess that these bikes are broken (stripped for the engine) and the parts sold to recover some/all the cost of buying the bike. Effectively reducing the population of FJs in the world.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Monkey got it

Years ago there were bumper stickers that said "I Brake for (insert whatever here)"  It was a play on those words

Ahh, I see now..........bumper stickers were never really a thing over here, the odd "Baby on Board" or "My other car is a Bike" stickers on the boot/trunk, but that's about it - and TBH I thought of us on here as those who brought FJ's back to life, rather than breaking for race car parts.

Boy, do I feel out of the loop  :unknown:

I like the hat, but shouldn't it say "WCR" or "Hayfork" or something?

This is a great idea...  what if the back had the rally event, year, and location around the cutout.  We could then make it a high enough volume design to offer rally hats for all rally events, even small ones, at a reasonable price.  Just get the text embroidered on the back (or sides) and you've got a custom hat.  What do you think?

I thought the same with having the Rally info on the back. Unfortunately, the website that I use does not allow me to do that.  :ireful:

I did a couple of examples
