Yea, those Paco alignment stands look to be the bomb. Never tried them myself. Some of the locals love them. That's the way to do it, get involved in a club, that way you can pass the tools around.

I admire your DIY can do attitude Rick. There may be lighter, more powerful 911's out there but I gotta hand it to you amigo....you are out there....mixing it up in door to door racing....and that is fucking cool :good:

Thanks Pat, I get the most satisfaction out of the DIY part. I've done all the work myself, from complete engine teardown/rebuild to painting the fiberglass parts. Believe me, that third place trophy means something. Like our FJ group, the Spec911 guys (and gals) are a fantastic group of people that really love the sport and the cars.

I'll be racing down at Buttonwillow outside Bakersfield May 18-19, if any of you SoCal guys are out for a ride.

I have a friend with a set of scales and stands that I can borrow, so I'll get it set up much better before the next race. Fingers crossed

I know a guy too...

Ooh... I'm off all week, maybe I'll come see you...

Tell him lunch is on me...  :drinks:

I think setting up a porche might cost a little more than lunch, but it might be worth the challenge

Oh, he's gonna do the setup? I was just gonna borrow the bits. Maybe I could show him a thing or two about a real race car setup.  :bomb:

What are you going to bring over, your converted street car or a "real race car"?

I'm pretty sure we already know how to set up "real race cars", the challenge will be setting up a converted street car.

I'll make sure I have the "Whine & Cheese" ready for that "real" race car set-up.

oh Richard...

Here are a few examples of lap times for you. All the time are very similar with two different cars and three different drivers.

A real, made specifically for the track race car, using a FJ motorcycle engine...what you say now...?

Maybe its time to let a real race car guy instill some knowledge to you on how to set up your "race" car.

Clown car...?

First you start knocking the worlds fastest Miata, and now a real race car that is faster and costs a fraction of what you are racing.

Do you have any pics of your street car sideways in the esses...?

Real race cars that do not require a "whale tail" to assist in traction, just real men driving them to the fullest and a little beyond.

Just let me know when you are ready to go faster, I can help. :hi:

Here's a pic on two wheels through T10 at Sonoma. Never touched the curb. You know the speed needed for that. T10 is for men.

BTW, does the little red nose have to be FIA rated?

Rick, for apples to apples, make sure the course layout didn't change since Ryan and Robert posted those times back in 2011.

I'm curious, Randy, what's the power of weight ratio of those T roadsters?  1200/120.. ~10 lbs per hp?
Rick is pushing 10.8 lbs per hp 2450/225
Take the car weight, and the tire size and calculate the weight per inch of tire width.
What the Miata guys have learned, light weight with low power means, big tires and corner speed, corner speed, corner speed....
