New thread to track interest...  I'll leave this open for 2 weeks and allow changes to your vote during that time.  At the end of this period we'll see if we have the required attendance to take the next step, collection of a deposit from those planning to attend (not sure of deposit size just yet, but it will be a meaningful number to encourage planned attendance).  If you'd like to attend but want to skip the meals (bad idea IMHO, but can be done), send me a PM and I'll keep track...  then I'll post a list of names to confirm attendees and preferences.  No PM means you want the meal plan.  Here's the deal:

Event: 2019 FJ Owners West Coast Rally

Location: Bar 717 Ranch, Hyampom Rd, Hayfork, CA 96041 http://www.bar717.com

Dates: Available from 5/30/19 (Thursday afternoon arrivals) through 6/2/19 (Monday checkout/departure).
Rates**:

2 meals/day plus carry off lunch included.  (also incl Thursday night dinner and late arrival sandwich bar, Sunday morning breakfast and carry off lunch)
      Camping  $45/night
Platform (3 wall structures with cots) $65/night
Guest Rooms $130/night for single or $190/night double occupancy

Without meals (not recommended!...  long way to food and roads not friendly for riding/driving back to Ranch afterward!)
      Camping  $15/night
      Platform  $35/night
Guest Rooms $100/night for single or $130/night double occupancy

** All rates are 2 night minimum stay.  Individuals can stay from 2 to 4 nights, Thursday through Sunday night (departing Monday) if desired.

Routes++:
Loop 1 - Hwy 36 to Fortuna.  101 to 299.  299 to Douglas City.  Hwy 3 back to Hayfork.  https://goo.gl/maps/6FGAECaH6912
Loop 2 - Underwood Mtn Rd to 299.  299 to Willow Creek.  96 to I5 at Yreka.  Hwy 3 back to Hayfork: https://goo.gl/maps/Ly73h5nKMtT2
   more to follow...
++ Routes are suggestions from Bar 717 Director, Kent Collard.  Kent has motorcycling experience in the area and has some experience with these suggestions...  these routes are 270 and 350 miles respectively, so we'll need to shorten them up...  of course other suggestions are welcomed!

Agenda: TBD, but here's a rough timeline...
Thursday (5/30) - Afternoon arrivals gather for dinner/drinks and wait for greet arrivals
Friday (5/31) - Morning or ?? departure for group ride(s) planned out Th night.  Friday arrivals join for dinner.
Saturday (6/1) - Morning or ?? ride...  Group Dinner/Activities (I have no plan here, but Monkey will come up with some fun stuff I'm sure)
Sunday (6/2) - Morning or ?? ride for us retired types...  Most of group departs after breakfast.
   Monday (6/3) - stragglers depart

We'll need ~20 or more riders for this Bar 717 option to be available.  Please use the voting buttons so we can get a fresh count on who's a.) committed to attend, b.) likely to attend, c.) unlikely to attend, or d.) won't attend? I'll give this process 14 days, then we'll decide if Hayfork makes the cut into finals...  (against the usual Willits KOA I presume, although we'll need a coordinator for that option).

Happy Holidays,

Frank

Sterling stuff. Such military precision. Monty would be proud.
Put me down for:
Thursday night arrival (no meals)
Friday camp with all meals,
Saturday camp with all meals
Sunday just breakfast would be good
Andy
life without a bike is just life

I am interested in attending, but its a 15 hour drive. I would probably have to leave Wednesday afternoon, hotel halfway, and arrive midday Thursday. and then leave Sunday morning, hotel that night, and arrive home Monday evening. Ill have to see what my schedule looks like, and if thats even a possibility.

I'm in for a Thursday arrival.
All meals included.
I will probably stay through till Monday morning.

I see you voted unlikely...  as long as we get above the minimum of ~20, late additions are no problem at this place.  Play it by ear and make it happen if it becomes a priority.  I bet the SoCal crew can help you out.  It would be good to ride with you again.

I highly doubt there is reliable coverage. Maybe do a search online of area coverage maps for different carriers.

I'll confirm with Kent, but I've been talking to him via his cell phone when he's at the ranch...

I'll report back.

No cell phone coverage at Bar 717 Ranch, ok reception in Hayfork but Verizon network.  They have a work around with wifi (if you VOIP), but will only extend that option for a couple people max.

They can give an emergency contact land line number if needed...  I'll personally leave that with friends/family.  We'll also get coverage areas on the rides and can keep up with the world...  or you can try disconnecting a bit more.  That approach is working well for me currently!

meals included...

Here's Kent's response when asked for more details on the food:

"Breakfast options would be hot or cold cereal, eggs, hash browns, sausage, pancakes, French toast, fruit.  We can also do a cook-your-own pancake/eggs/hash brown breakfast on the grills next to the kitchen.  This can be good for a morning where you might want a rolling mealtime, say on the last day since people can come down and make their breakfast anytime in  a couple hour spread of time instead of eating all at the same time.  Sack lunch options would be PB&J, tuna, or egg salad sandwiches, with some veggies, cookies, etc.  Dinner main dishes could be spaghetti, pork chops, baked chicken, chicken enchilada casserole, hamburgers, pizza, etc.  We can also do a vegetarian option for any meal."

We can spec meals in advance and I'll coordinate that if Hayfork gets at least 20 people willing to pay a deposit.  We'll need $1000 deposit by March 1 latest to secure Bar 717 for the WCR weekend, so let's get going on the commits...  that's going to be $50 each roughly on deposits required within the next few weeks, so plan accordingly.

I'm in the commit column of course, but there's at least some chance we'll have another weekend of wet rides, good meals, and campfire camaraderie...  I for one am down with that!  Rather ride more of course, but we'll have a great time regardless of conditions.

Gentlement,

In for the duration - will be sharing with Mr. ZOA NOM ( just to keep things tidy between Flynt & him...!).

As long as the beer & booze holds out, no problems anticipated!

Very glad to see Firehawk attending as well!

Andy, still have the bungee cords to return from the Renegade Rally, hope to see you before the WCR!

Ryan - motor in with the So Cal group (they do get lonely!)

Ride safe,

Midget
