Thanksgiving and A motorcycle company that I didn't know existed.

Yesterday for Thanksgiving, I participated in a Turkey Ride that delivered 59 homemade Thanksgiving dinners all over the city of Wichita for people in need. One of the riders showed up on a Motorcycle that looked a bit different than the regular Harley Davidson's and metric cruisers that I normally see. I had never even heard of the company let alone saw one of their bikes. The company is Ridley. A lightweight, very low seat height, 100% automatic transmission V-twin. Sadly the company folded after the 2008 financial collapse.

The next 2 photos are prepping the dinners and our first stop. 14 deliveries to an elderly assisted living complex.

A couple of photos of the FJ. Just over 100 miles covered. I left the house at 8:30am @34°F (the heated grips were on) and returned home at 5:30PM @60°F.

I'm not the fastest FJ rider, I am 'half-fast', the fastest slow guy....

Interesting motorcycle.  It's so low it looks custom.

Ridley doesn't really exist.

What that blurb fails to mention is that a big factor in their demise was a lawsuit from Harley.

Such good works Fred. Just how big is that luggage to fit 14 turkeys?

There was stuffing, chicken noodle soup, green beans and pie included. Once the turkey was carved and individually packaged, everything went into large sacks. With my new bags empty, I can carry 6 full face helmets. No need to stuff the bags full of Turkey, we had a couple of Chase vehicles for transport. The last 2 stops, the meals were actually carried on a couple of bikes.

Good onya Fred, you can tell a lot about a man by how he treats the elderly and the less fortunate, well done.  :good2:

Nope, you got it all wrong (especially in your Username) - 51 is kinda young compared to a few of us on here.

I for one, vote that you change your username to "Young-ish Rider"

Any seconds on this, Pat/Joe :sarcastic: ??

Old Rider,

Too late now, but next year, google for the local restaurants and social organizations that serve up Thanksgiving dinner for free or for cheap.
You should have lots of options there, and the food won't be cold.

You're not old, you are experienced.    8)

Cheers,

P.S. Life is too short, and health is too valuable, to ride on cheap parade-duty tires.

If you think that, you probably are!

51 years ago I was incurring the wrath of the neighbours on a hotted up BSA 350 and Honda was about to blow us away with the single biggest leap in motorcycle design ever (including up to the current day)
