You forgot a few things: 1) he has a great and overly vocal contempt for many things Americana 2) he has a obsessive-compulsive attention to other peoples' spelling.  Still he's clearly bright and provides wit and color, and the world would be a less entertaining place without him.

Net net, he's alright, I would not vote him off the island.

A+ for spelling Arnie. Spelt is the past tense and past participle of spell. However, in current usage it seems anything goes and spelled is acceptable
