That's gotta be annoying. My brother just bought a Kawasaki, and let me just say, I don't like it. It doesn't hold turns as well as an FJ, it's too light, and it just feels weird.

I like Kawasaki's, the new Z900RS is amazing.

Today I spend some saddle time in a 2nd gen FZ1 and I really liked it -

Just not better than my '89

Faster, oh yes, the new one is faster.

Sure shifted nice. I'm still having shift issues, started when I adjusted for the Buell lower pegs, needs some fine tuning.

I'm going for a ride -

Today on the way to Louisville, Kentucky, I stopped into my favorite motorcycle superstore, Sunrise Motorsports in Searcy, AR. I wanted to get a look and a sit on the new Honda Gold Wing. I will probably take one on a test ride next time I get home from West Virginia.  That will definitely be a long term goal if I like how it rides and runs. I also sat on a Kawasaki Z900 RS, a Yamaha XSR 700 and a lightly used 2016 Suzuki GSX-S 1000. I'm thinking that one of those naked bikes may be a whole lot easier on tires in the twisties than the FJ has been. Quite likely a little more fun as well. I guess that remains to be seen. :pardon:

If you like the Z900RS try out the plain Z900.  It is the best out-of-box mid-pirice bike I've ever ridden.  Suspension is spot on for anything short of the track.  The throttle is smooth from zero to full stop.  It is far better than my FZ09 was out of the box.  The Z900RS is more of a stretch to the bars and for some unknown reason it is snatchy off the zero position on the throttle.  Why it is different from the plain Z900 is a mistery, but it is.  The Z900RS in candy brown/orange sure is pretty, though.

The Kawi rep let us ride the Z900 and it reminded me of the older Triumph Speed Triple. Loved the wheelie on command, the powerband, yeah, you are right, a total blast to ride and a bargain IMO. $8399.00 MSRP Non-ABS. A bargain!
