Did a search for engine oil sight window but nothing came up on this sight. Mine is very dirty.

Has anyone tried seafoam to clean it?
Has anyone replaced the engine oil sight window on a FJ1200 93, and if so can it be pried out from the front like the brake reservoir can?

Thx

A new sight glass is still available from Yamaha. I have not personally heard of anyone changing theirs. I would suggest contacting RPM directly for a procedure to do the replacement and order a new one.

Here is the diagram, Part #32 in the drawing. https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/yamaha/motorcycle/1993/fj1200ae/crankcase-cover-1

If you remove the clutch cover, you can usually use a Q-Tip (or similar)  and some solvent or gas to reach into the sight glass and clean the glass and metal backing plate.

If you want to replace the sight glass, you can find them here: Yamaha FJ Sight Glass

They are a press fit from the back side.
