I've just become the proud owner of a 93 fj1200, looking forward to the nice weather coming up. My fj has done 55000 with full history. Progressive springs and Hagon shock. Will do a few bits to it I think. One thing I noticed on first ride Home is I stalled it but it wouldn't restart when in gear and clutch in, is this because the switch on the clutch is worn out

Welcome to the FJ sandbox!  Pull up a seat, and be among friends.

It's easy to separate the connector for the clutch switch from the bike harness.  Then you can use a continuity meter (multimeter) connected to the contact pins to see if the clutch switch operates reliably.  If you do not have a multimeter, just borrow one for the minute.  They typically cost US$30~US$50 and as the name implies, they are useful for many test operations.  Most will have a beeper function for continuity, a bar graph line across the bottom to show how much of the measurement range is used, and a protective fuse inside.  Choose one that uses common batteries, and buy twice the batteries needed, so you will always have a good set on hand.  I recommend rechargeable batteries, such as nickel-metal-hydride, because they are much cheaper in the long run.
