G'day Pete

I was planing a route for Al and myself via Richmond, Wisemans Ferry, George Downs Dr to Broke, then Singleton.

According to Base Camp, this should take about 4.5 hrs

Mudgee to Singleton, about 3 hrs

Not sure on these figures but, at this stage, we should contemplate meeting at Singleton.

I believe we have some fellow FJ'ers from the Central Coast.

Maybe they could plan to meet Al and I somewhere along George Downs Dr.

Open to suggestions.

Gavin

G'day Gavin, it would be great if you and Al could join us at Singleton. Not too sure what our ETA is, it depends on what time we can get away from Mudgee. We will have a couple of Tasmanians with us, they may take some prodding to get them moving once they settle in for the great breakfast we have got planned for them. The best plan maybe to call you on the Wednesday night and plan from there. It might be a better idea if you call us as the beer at the Oriental Hotel is pretty good!
Looking forward to catching up with everybody. Not long now!
   Regards, Pete.

G'day Pete

Poor Tassie Devils, they don't quite know what they've got themselves into.

Is this the breakfast you were thinking of...

Cheers
Alan

5.30am is a bit early for beer mate. I usually wait until 6am. I suppose it all depends on which time zone you are in at the time.
Usually, if I'm drinking beer at 5.30 am, it means I haven't stopped drinking from the previous night. Thankfully those days are long gone.
We should try to catch up for a coffee in Singleton on Thursday morning. Bike's ready to go and I'm getting exited!
   Regards, Pete.

Just think you are in NZ, 2hrs ahead at present.

Yes, those days have gone, along with driving to work the next morning.
There's a Bakery in the main drag.

I'm no where near ready.

Well spotted, and here's the rest of the smokers.

They are all good except when behind them :wacko3:

It's great to see them out being used like that. I think my favourite would be the RD 400 (even though the 500 would be more "desirable"), but all of them would be hugely welcome in my garage.

Personally, I think I'd prefer to be riding behind them than in front of them though  :good2:

I was at the back most of the way.
The blue RD250 seized on the way up just out of Muswellbrook and stayed on the trailer for the rest of the weekend

I know this is not the 2 stroke form but I LOVE 2 strokes. I have a 400 that a few months ago I had completely built.
stage 2 porting, heads done, new crank good to 10K RPM, new power dynamo, 34MM flat slide carbs, pipes ect. 62HP rear wheel on the dyno.
I love to jump off it and get directly on the to FJ or the other way around.

There are two things that get folks around here diving for the keyboard, oil threads and any excuse to talk about 2 strokes, RD's in particular. I seem to recall we have quite a lot of them here.

62HP at the wheel is a very respectable amount of power for a light bike like that, it must go like a cut cat. The "Widow Maker" Kawasaki 750 triples only made a bit over 70 (and only claimed 74)

Your bike sounds like it would be a lot of fun to ride Paul. There is no other feeling like ringing the neck out of a fast 2-stroke and using all of the gearbox. I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about it.

Hi guys. Looks like I'll make it to the rally - just. I'm part way through a bathroom reno and on Thursday I fly to Perth for a week due to a family bereavement. I'll be back on the 7th. Not much time so I'll need to extract the digit to make sure I'm ready to go as soon as I get back.

You have PLENTY of time to get ready (if you start now, which it looks like you have).

I, however, will be on the other side of the planet learning all about plumbing (poo goes down right?).

A bathroom renovation is sure to fuck up your trip to Sand Groper Land and the Home of the Americas Cup, let alone a FJ rally.
Get a 'grip'  :rofl2: and make sure you make the trip just a few k's north. It won't get any closer (trust me now ).

I have my accommodation booked. I fly in from Perth 6.30 Thursday morning and will depart from home as soon as I can. I'll ride independently via Buckets Way and Thunderbolts Way to the Oxley as I have no idea of timing until I'm on a train heading to Newcastle. Hopefully I'll be leaving home by lunchtime. Still haven't packed my Givi.

Great to hear Krusty,
Well there will be a bunch of us at Gloucester Thursday night, Roundabout Inn I believe.
Then Friday will be departing up Thunderbolts Way.

Bit of a shorter run for Thursday, seeing you'll be coming from Perth... on the same day.

Cheers
