Mirror options on 1989 FJ1200

Hi all. I have a 1987 FJ1200 but the bodywork and suspension are from a 1989 bike. The mirrors are pretty well shot and I'd like to know about my options. I have heard 2005 CBR 600 mirrors will fit but with some modification. I can't find much info on this. Can anyone tell me what's what? I want to see behind me but commuting in LA traffic I also lane split ALL THE TIME so I need to keep it as narrow as possible. To be honest, staying narrow is more important then the rear view. Usually the most troublesome part of lane splitting is my mirrors because they are the same height as auto mirrors. (I see cops slip in places I wouldn't even walk with those big BMWs!) Also, I have the RPM Vibranator bar ends so I can't do bar end mirrors. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

The first CBR mirrors that I used were for a 2004 CBR1000. They gave a better view to the rear than the OEM mirrors and may work well for your needs.

86 mirrors on an 89 are the way to go. They just look right.  The way Yamaha should have done them all. It drops them down level. Puts them wider so you can actually use them.

Rizoma makes very nice, high quality mirrors.  My 84 is a different design, of course, but I'm sure they have plenty of models to choose from for your FJ.  I got mine at Del Amo Motorsports in Redondo Beach.
