Avon Spirit ST tires/tyres

I'm with Randy on those Avon's. I've only run Avon Azaros and Avon Storms, I really can't fault them for how they handled or wore. I would imagine that a new model of Avon tire would certainly be equal to or better than the earlier tires.

They arrived today - amazing, I ordered them yesterday!

I'm running Avon Roadrunners now, no complaints.
Metzlers, others, I've never been very brand or model loyal, I like to try a new "set" when applicable.

So how many miles did you get on the Avon Roadrunners?  I just mounted a set in late November and only put on 200 miles.

I can't say enough about the Avon Storm 3D in the 150/80-16 size. I was very impressed.

What I can say, on my '84, that if this Avon tire had been available 15 years ago, I would have never converted my back rim over to a 17" rim.

Yes, I still would have converted my front over with '89+ fork lowers and the 3.5" FZR rim to run the matching 120/70-17 Avon.(and the R-1 brakes, etc...)

....and now we have a new and improved Avon Spirit?  Kudo's to Avon!

Please let us know your impressions and what sort of mileage you get out of these tires.

So how many miles did you get on the Avon Roadrunners?  I just mounted a set in late November and only put on 200 miles.

I'm bad about tracking miles on anything more than oil changes anymore.

They did make it a whole season, which is rare for me, they wore well IMO, and they handled nicely as well, no wobbles, nicely balanced.

I am currently using the Avon Storm 3D XM tires. Both the Storm 3D XM and the Spirit tires have a 15,000 mile factory warranty

It's taking some getting used to them - the neutrality of the tires is somewhat suspect, they feel "darty" in a way -

I think this is why I went back to bia-ply last time?

The front are the ebay chinese ones that were recommended here. The rear is a EBC from the local dealer and I would of had EBC on the front but they were not available.

And I would buy them from Randy but I work at the dealership and pay cost plus a little, too good a deal to pass up.....

I do buy from RPM whenever I can, and something may be coming up for them soon. Excellent service, always, they're great, no bs.

The rotors are Chinese made, but there are cheap low quality ones that the bobbins rust. You want to make sure they are the Arashi brand.
