Yea, we lost a good one. When you see drilled disk brake rotors, think of Dan.

His counter rotating crank engine design is interesting:

I hope someone continues this development.

RIP Dan, you had a good run.

Kevin Cameron said it best:  "Death may be universal, but the force of a life lived fully, makes it incidental."

I forgot about the Gurney Gator!  Wonder how fast one would go with an FJ engine...

I met him once at the Barrett-Jackson collector car auction in Scottsdale.
He was a super nice guy on top of all his accomplishments. Always willing to chat with people that came up to talk to him.

He was also a quite tall individual.

I have one question about the photo above.................Where in the world does he put his legs on that thing?

Now that's a blast from the past... I used to have a Dan Gurney bike.

Not mine but same frame:

What a class act:

"With one last smile on his handsome face, Dan drove off into the unknown just before noon today," said the statement signed by Evi Gurney, the Gurney family and AAR teammates.

R.I.P. and keep smiling; Dan Gurney

Footpegs are forward, low on the frame - at the top of the "chin spoiler"
