Hey folks, just a FYI, at the last WCR we agreed to have the 2018 event at the KOA in Petaluma.

https://koa.com/campgrounds/san-francisco/

I have spoken to Danny at the campground and have set aside 10 cabins for this event.

****The KOA is now ready to take reservations****  See the post above for additional info...

The current cabin rates are $115 per night, however the 2018 rates will be set in January.

This post is just a FYI, letting you know I'm working on it. Stay tuned. I will post a follow up with details.

Cheers  Pat

Do you know which Cabins are reserved?

It would be helpful to get RV and tent slots reserved in the same area as well.

Cabins 264 to 274 are held. If we think we need more than 10 cabins I can add them.

I plan to attend and am happy to split a cabin with someone if they are multi bed or rooms.  I know Florida Steve and I are going to begin a discussion where I may carry his bike and gear out for him, maybe he and I split.

I look forward to seeing those friends from the Ouray rally again and making new ones.

Dave, please give me a call when you can. I'd like to see what's possible on my budget. I have already committed myself to the Central Rally in Arkansas by making lodging reservations. Are you planning to attend that rally, as well? It's conveniently located and timed for the return trip.

Well, I am kind of disappointed. When Pat sent out that the cabins were ready for reservation, my wife called.

Pat, I know you reserved the cabins that have no amenities. My wife and rest of the family usually stay in a lodge with a bathroom, kitchen and separate sleeping quarters. That way we don't have to go out in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, we have the means of cooking for the whole family and everyone in the family has their privacy too.

Well, there are no cabins available to rent other than the specific cabins reserved. So, the ability for my family to stay in one lodge as mentioned above is out... :scratch_one-s_head:

I know Frank & Diane also enjoy the ability to be self sufficient and not have to walk out in the cold, wee hours of the morning to use the bathroom either.

Actually I am very disappointed about this. :negative: :negative: :negative:

Oh well, maybe we'll just ride in for a day.

Are you saying the lodges are fully booked?

That's what they told my wife.

Plus, I think we rented the final two RV spots on that side of the campground as well as there was only two available. The other few are all the way across the campground. That sucks to have to be so far away from the group.

I will correct the wording below, sorry lodge did not come into my thought as I was typing.

Ok, I just got off the phone with Danny Ortega, the manager, we have 3 lodges reserved on standby.
He said that it was common to have cancellations and as these come up (for the lodges) he will hold them for us.
He will call me as they cancel and I will let you and Frank know asap.

Sorry for the heart burn.

Pat, did you inquire about RV spots?

Simi Ed & San Dimas Mike will need RV spaces. Plus, you might need one more if Zari brings his trailer again this year.

At this point the two I have on hold are spoken for.

Guys, just putting it out there to anyone that wants to share a room with a very quiet, responsible, non snoring, Non drinking, and of course, honest Australian?

Hey Pat, How can I ensure my toes don`t get cold nor trod on?   :drinks:
