Jeff, Fred, Isn't there a urethane clear coat over the decals?

Where I got mine done was a panel shop. He does this as a side line to his panelshop. The clearcoat is automotive 2pack clear. Got a magnificent gloss finish.
The one thing it has done for me is highlight the fact that now I have to paint the bike and detail it so that the all over finish matches.  I might get away with the paint for now but definitely detailing which is well underway now. Got lots planned but now  it's a time issue.
This all started because someone said " nice bike but pity the alloy looks dull, why don't you polish it. It might look as good as mine"!
That's basically how it started. I'm not one to half do something, so it's game on.
As to how far I go is another thing.
I'm considering buying something else and making this a full on project.
Don't think it will get to be as good as Aviationfreds FJ1300.
That bike is an inspiration to me.
However he has given me a few good ideas.
