So sorry to bring you the Sad news that my Soul mate, Dena, passed away yesterday (Saturday) at 7.55am.
I`m devastated and still can`t believe it....even though we knew well in advance.
My childhood Sweetheart, we`ve been together for fifty years.
Many would remember her suddenly losing her total vision in 2014, but she was still determined to make our 30th Anniversary rally in Jindabyne and did so in a Sidecar ride across three states.
Her strength and wicked sense of humour remained, even in her last days as she swung in and out of conscousness.
Funeral is on Friday 18th at 11.00am in Immanuel Lutheran Church off Wises Road Buderim 4556. (All Welcome)

A Happy Life.

Damn it Doug, this is terrible news.

I vividly recall the issues of 2014 and the strength she showed us when we visited. Chandra and I were blessed to meet her.

I am sorry for the loss of your best friend.

Godspeed.

Doug, truly sad news. Having met Dena and sharing your special morning tea-cake and coffee with the both of you, will stay with me forever.
Even though it was very evident she was not well, Dena showed a great sense of humour and never complained once about anything, not even at my not so good of a job at buttering the tea-cake.
Please accept my sincere condolences and keep your chin up mate. Hope to catch up with you soon.
   Regards, Pete.

Doug .......my friend and brother.........I am writing again(FB post) as the shock and sadness have finally given way to the words I have struggled so hard to find.  After talking it over with (Jessie) my woman yesterday, we were able to take stalk and like a fire drill, we tried to imagine and prepare for the worst possible scenario. In the case where love and companionship are on the line, the imagination can not do any justice to the sense of loss and loneliness. My woman seems much better equipped if I were to head on before her, but that's only because she has such a bad short term memory when I do it right  :mail1: and an excellent long term memory when I make a mistake.... :ireful: ... :mocking:.. that being said we both have agreed that everyone we ever love and share our story with, will one day have to say ...... "Good bye" to us......be it 2 hours or 50 years.....it is a reality of this life......... my prayer is, when that day does arrive, we will be able to do it with pride, dignity, joy, gratitude, hope and Love. God loves us all, so very much.....whether we see it or not. Like a parent, he watches over us and does what he can when we let Him throughout our entire lives..... He has always been there for me.....and my Jessie, I know he is with you now. Let Him comfort and assure you my Brother....... and fill your heart with joy and gratitude for giving you such a wonderful soulmate and friend in this world. I love you bro and will miss Dena......especially the next time I see you......but one day.....we will see her again and share a glorious eternity in Heaven. Peace be with you my brother.......Our thoughts and prayers will be with you. Looking forward to seeing you again in the very near future. Your brother and friend always....Kev

To show the love and support for Doug and family, the celebration of Dena's life had a great turnout, and the church function was well presented.
Doug now is the time to fix the red rocket and start riding, we miss your presence.
