Shipping a Motorcycle?

Does anyone have any experience with or could anyone recommend a reputable motorcycle shipping company?  I'm looking to ship a bike from upstate NY to central Maine, 600 miles.

I'm doing the regular internet searches, but reading of a lot of very long unexpected delays in shipping, scams, and damaged bikes on arrival, and fake transport insurance for bike that were ' covered' for damage.

Thanks

Typical internet negativity. Dig deeper, and you'll find positive reviews too.

Mark,

I once (a few years back) used Federal Motorcycle Transport for shipping a 600# bike, from the Great Lakes to Utah.

They went to the seller's house, secured the bike on a good-sized pallet, and delivered the pallet to my door in less than a week, with no delays or damage.  You get a tracking number, of course.  They did everything; it was fast, painless, and the cost was less than buying a plane ticket to the bike.  The seller had a handlebar-specific tie-down yoke, and it was redundant to what they used, but they used that, also.  They have several shipping options, as to cost and speed of shipping, so call for the latest rates.  Best wishes.
Cheers,
Red

P.S. Life is too short, and health is too valuable, to ride on cheap parade-duty tires.

I have used Forward Air, https://www.forwardair.com/forwardair/prepaid/MCmainpage.jsp , several times and a friend used them a lot when he was selling bikes and shipping all over the US. I liked their service and can recommend them. The shipping containers are very well made, are easy to use and have lots of hard points to hook your straps into. At one time they did not ship doorstep to door step, they may now. They have terminals at most major airports. Unfortunately, none are in Maine. They do have a cartage service with several terminals in Maine. Check with them to see if the cartage service is available for their motorcycle transport program. Good luck.

Mark,

I have used Haul Bikes a total of seven times to date. I have shipped FJ's, a KTM Baja and even my nephews Ural Sidecar Bike.

No concerns and have been impressed each time with the professionalism of the drivers and their equipment. I will be using them for my transport as well.
