Hi
Just in case on the very slim off chance someone here was thinking of getting their stock stainless with black coating treated this way..don't bother. Because the plain steel area where the pipe goes into the head  would be eaten away in the process. Too bad as they would be there now going through the process.

I hadn't thought of it, but now I'll be looking up 'electro chemical polishing' to see what it's about. My '84 has all black chrome from headers to mufflers. For the first few years of ownership I thought it was pretty cool. Now they just look sad from neglect. No garage for several years where I can remove them completely and take my time in the off season to really get at them for a clean up. The double walls are giving out too.

Look for a PM from me on another matter.
Charlie.
If someone wants to see any images I refer to in posts, first check my gallery here. If no bueno, send me a PM. More than glad to share.
