So I assume 84-87 FJ chain sliders are a consumable part that is unobtainium?

Gentlemen: I recently purchased off Ebay a new chain slider for my 84. I thought it was an NOS item, but not so, This company, Hot Foot Moto, has made their own mold and poured them. OK. well, the cost is $55ish. You can submit 3 prices to to get it lower than the list of $59. They accepted $55, nor $51 or $52.
Fit and finish is a long way from NOS, but I got it on and it looks like it will work with the swingarm now installed. I had to reverse the lower 90 degree keeper as the keeper would not fit the normal way. It looks like if I trimmed the keeper 90 degree length it would work, but have not tried that until I check to see if those keepers are still available.
The material seems very durable and has a gloss black surface instead of the dull black of the Yamaha part. I'll be testing it in about a week when I get the rest of my bike back together.

Just got mine in the post, I’ll bring it to the shed Day Sweet! I've love to check one out. I've been obsessing over chain tension way too much as I didn't want to 'bugger' my swinger, I mean swingarm.

Well new chain slider has 1 major problem, doesn't look like it was a good copy. No provision for lower fixing tab to fit into slider and a piece out of slider which should be there. Picture with blue circle is old slider with tab provision but piece worn away and broken over tab. Picture with red circle is new (copy) slider with No tab provision and No piece over where tab would be. Picture with green circle is a new slider with tab provision and showing piece over tab. (This slider is one you have to take swingarm off to fit.

What do you mean by "piece out of slider"? The slot that is missing, can you just cut it in? That part after all only slightly supports the slider.

Just modified photos. Not going to easy to ‘cut’ a slot in without making comprising it at that point. ‘Piece out of slider’ is no missing in bottom photo
