I got my  1984 FJ with a burgundy paint job.
I like burgundy but not on my FJ.
I lucked out when I found an 85 FJ minus a motor at an auction.
25000km shown on the odometer of this FJ and I managed to get it for only $200.
The original red/blk bodywork was covered in pigeon crap from being stored in a barn but some elbow
grease and wax  brought back most of the original finish. The only thing missing from the 85 was the bellypan
but I am working on the original burgundy one I have and will install it soon.
I also rebuilt the engine to original specs by only going 0.5mm with OEM 30yr old new partss I found on ebay.
This bike is now THE smoothest and most powerful I heve ever seen in my 5yrs of ownership.
New clucth actuator from a 2006 FJ. New clutch line and barnett clutch package.
Rpm shock.RPM fork damper. RPM tranny. RPM exhaust.

Like I said SMOOTH.

Keep in mind theses are all just quick and dirty photochops:

That's with the decals moved as per pat's suggestion...

I have a '90 model that I have contemplated repainting. If you don't do this pattern, I just might have too. I think it looks incredible.

My '90

I am leaning towards the red and silver.

Only problem is I'm pulled towards putting the bike back the way it was (for the sake of the bike if nothing else) and every time my wife walks by she says the white would be her first choice, the silver a second choice and that messes me right up again.

Maybe I should not let her talk anymore?

:wacko3:

Keep the wife happy. Restore it to the original white and silver.

I guess I am lucky, she gets inside and exterior of the house. I get the garage and all in it.... She even refuses to in the garage. It bit her the last time she entered....
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

I meant the pictures on my laptop.

Although she stays out of the garage all the same....nothing in there of any interest for her.

It's just as well, anything mechanical or electrical she touches, breaks. I asked her to hit my electric impact gun for me while I held things in place and it stopped working and has been intermittent messed up ever since. Was perfectly fine moments before. She just doesn't get along with machines....

I am partial to the OEM White and Silver. The 1300 will stay with the OEM paint scheme. I may get a plastic front fender and paint it marble silver just to see what the Suzuki front end would look like with a silver fender.

I actually like the red silver with the black letters(minus the big Fj)But I also liked Fred's bike when he had the all white plastic.

But red and white all the way

But I'm going with the midnight blue. Slightly more blue. With the red graphics that Fred used on the white one. For the turbo bike. :pardon:

A variant of the OE colours, like ZOA NOM, with dark grey base instead of blue. My "new" 1TX

I like the darker theme too and it was a great point to buy it
