85 1100 carbs with vents ?

I found a set of carb for an 85 1100 on ebay there are what look like vac ports or vents where a rubber hose would go on the bodies of the #2 & #4 carb. Does anyone know what they are for? I'm thinking they are for emisions on a Cal. or Euro. bike.

Yea, they're for the hoses coming from the charcoal canisters on the fuel tank for the Cali bikes. Just cap them off with female vacuum plugs and clamps, and you're good to go.
