That's as bad as Florida hurricanes - I've seen one take out part of a lane of a bridge - couldn't see it until too late!  Luckily I went by in the inside lane.

That is a little worse than what the Northridge quake did to many of the bridge connections on the 405 freeway. The bridges were well anchored but the ground fore and aft sunk. At good clip you could catch some air. Then Caltrans fixed the worst ones. I was feeling like I was going for the gold on the Isle of Man tt.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.
