Another question? Might only pertain to the early FJs?

While removing carbs and things on this '84, I came across this.
It was laying loosely across the top of Intake manifold rubbers for cylinders 1 and 2, like it had fallen in there.

It looks like a couple of the pieces that I have on the ends of my inner fairing panels, to try and keep them from buzzing against each other (mine must be dried out on my '90, as it still buzzes), however it is much larger than any of the inner fairing pieces.
Does anyone know where this might possibly go?

I had considered that it might go on the top of the heat-shield, to keep the vacuum lines from chafing on it? (that would make sense, as it was right near that area when I found it)
Possibly like this picture? :unknown:

If it does in-fact go on there, I could use a dab of weather-strip adhesive to hold it in place.

I did not find it in the parts diagrams for 1984 FJ1100, on or near the heat-shield?

Any ideas?

Yes, that is where I found that piece on my '86, as you suspect an anti-chafing device for the hoses.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.
