I told you to use a spot of glue when I noticed it loose.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

I'm not laughing at your advice, on the contrary. I just imagined it flying away.

I've seen this posted many times over the years. It seemed like a great idea so I did it to mine. Works perfectly. You do need to take those things off occasionally.

Is that a velcro or what? I can't see it clearly.

Yes, Velcro. Harder to do on the 86/87 parts but works well on my 89.

I have Velcroed them too, it worked but not cleanly. I was messing around with them a few weeks ago, removed the Velcro, mistake. The one that fell off does not need to be removed, could have glued it. The other does need to be removed to access a mounting screw. If a few more parts fall off, I my turn this old girl into a "naked" bike".

I told you to blah blah blah. Sound like my wife Mark. I love her too.

Keep an eye on http://www.cmsnl.com/. CMSNL is in Europe and I have picked up a couple right sides there. They must buy out dealer stock and put them in inventory as they show up. When those little suckers show up, they go fast. The price has not been bad, but the shipping cost is more than the part. With shipping, they are still less than the Ebay price is for left side which is still available from Yamaha.

Randy (at RPM of course) found a pair of new ones for me from a source other than his own store. He didnt have to do that. But he he did. Like so many on this site a great guy that wants us to enjoy the Kooklaloo.
