2017 Central Rally - 8/11-13/2017

I think 55 North of Keshena on the Menomonee reservation. Is the best road in Wisconsin. Only 26miles. It has slow vehicle turn offs every couple miles. I'm pretty sure they built It just so people will come to ride/drive it. And stop at their casino that Is a couple of miles from one end. I've met people from other states that said they come there just to ride that road. It's 150ish miles from the Dell's though. There is a place that rents rafts to run the river(Shotgun Eddy raft rentals) Right on that stretch of road. Could make a day of riding and rafting.

The logic of the weekend dates picked is perfect. 

Having never been to south western Wisconsin, what are the typical noon to 5pm temperatures?
I know in south Central Kansas, temperatures during this time of year are typically in the upper 90's to low 100's.

Fred, the temps are generally in the 80's that time of year, a comfortable temp. The only  thing that can get bad is the humidity.

I can make the 4th-6th but not the later weekend (11th-13th)...

It occurred to me that the area we'd be in might be a little cruiser-heavy.

When's the 2017 Central Rally in Ouray? My kids live in Denver and I'm planning on making that trip - hate to have it conflict.

There isn't a plan to have a rally in Ouray for 2017.  Alan did most of the legwork on that one for 2016 (and it was *awesome*), but he's attending the WCR this time around.

The "Central Rally" has moved around a lot over the years, but at least in the last few, it's been scheduled for the weekend following the WCR.  The idea behind that has always been that a group of WCR guys can just attend both one after the other.  Many of us have made a nice motorcycle trip out of it getting from one to the other and it adds 5-8 extra FJ guys to the Central Rally.

With a "Central" rally not being planned elsewhere, is there any consideration for having this 2017 Wisconsin Rally on the weekend following the WCR?  That would make it June 8th - 11th.

No consideration was given.

There tends to be a lot of sand that collects in certain places of the secondary roads in WI from hard rains and snow melt early in the year. It usually takes some good rains and extended time for it to go away for the most part, so later in the riding season is better than early. In August, the weather is more stable as well. Early June could be problematic for weather.

In addition to the above, I previously stated that the one of the two weekends in August would be good since there would be less rolling roadblocks and more bar stools available during that time frame.

I have also heard of a possible Central Rally ('17) located in the Ozarks of Arkansas. Correct me if I am wrong but I think this would be an awesome area to have a rally.

Marty made some good points about having the Wisconsin Midwest Rally occur in August instead of June.

I can assure you that the Ozarks has enough great roads, views and food to make it well worth the trip. Of course, I might be a little biased.....

I think I was the only one that made it to the Arkansas rally/ride this year. It was great as always. The Hub is the place for riding home base in the Ozarks. Posted some pics of the rally/ride this year.

I would rather use the later dates also for Wisconsin.

Those are some darned good points!  I've ridden the northern plains in June and had 21 straight days of rain.  I defer to your local knowledge and will try to make work whatever dates are decided upon!

If there was enough interest in another Colorado Rally in Ouray for 2017, I could organize it. I just wouldn't be able to attend.

With the amount of vacation time that I currently get, and having to balance Rally-time with Family trips, along with other stuff that I have planned, I can usually only attend one Rally per year.
For 2017 I've already committed my Rally-time to the WCR.

I could contact the folks down in Ouray and set things up however.

Like I said I would rather have it on the latter dates. But I thought I would throw this out there. Elkhart lake/Road America. Has vintage races, and the rockerbox show 6-9/ 6-10.
