I'll get the ball rolling with this map capture of where I dumped. I located it by satellite map. It was on Orser Rd., which from an overhead view, I was running from the left to the right of the image. It should not have been that big of a deal. However, look at the inset photo in the middle of the photo, a few yards up the road from where I finished up: 4 wheel vehicle tracks right up to the bushes. LOL. Like the resident who helped me said, he should buy himself a tow truck.

Ahhhhh. ... THAT corner! I was lucky enough to be following dan ... in daylight, ...when i first experienced that road. The ending intersection is just as dangerous: a hidden steep downhill stop with lots of gravel.
Its good to see that the damage is the minimum to you!   ...and the bike. Lucky!

On Saturday we took in roads on pretty much the same route as last year: Desert Lake road, Westport Road, #36, #511, #508 & Centennial Lake Road, and... half of Buckshot Lake Road. Next year we will do the other half..
The sun was shining and the weather was just perfect.

A couple pics on Friday as people were arriving:

Had a great time!!, good weather, good food, great camp fires, and amazing roads. Thanks for letting me join in even though I don't have the FJ any longer. The little "FJ6" was able to keep up until my body wore out.
Thanks again for hosting, fantastic way to close out the summer, since its cold and raining now, hope to get in a few more local rides before it s**ws.

Some video on Friday, September 23, 2016.  I'm following paullfj03 on Desert Lake Rd the Bedord Rd.  I am using two views from my left foot and nose cam.  I had a helmet cam but it wasn't oriented quite right.  Plus trying to edit three simultaneous timelines into one using Windows Moviemeaker was driving me nuts.  I found doing two barely manageable, as I had to write down the time of each splice and try to find the (near enough) frame in the second video to try and create a seamless process.  More or less I think it worked.

These roads were featured in last years videos, but included in a whole day video.  This one contains just these two roads.  Nearly the whole segement is in real time - I did edit out a bit here and there to keep it under 20 min.  The best thing was we never had a car in front of us!

Over the next week or so I will be posting one or two more vdeos here.  Hope you enjoy... Deset Lake Rd & Bedford Rd

Oh yeah - I did screw up in the music credits.   :sorry:  It's Jonny Winter's Mean Town Blues not Mean Mistreater.  It took 8hrs to upload to Youtube, so I can live with that for now.

Nice job Paul. And look at that sky around 4 minutes in. Beautiful.
I need to keep my camera running sooner and longer.

BTW, from my brief poking around, "they say" that huge boom that shook the ground Saturday night was very likely a meteor. Reports were coming in of a fireball.

Just glad it didn't hit my bike, because it was parked at the end of the row and would have dominoed over the rest of the bikes. FJ's is tough, y'all.

Sorry to have missed the Campnride '16. Looking forward to coming again next year.

Thanks for sharing the video, paul. Great job!  Friday was a  good tour, eh... . . That camera side mount seems to work pretty good, too :good2:. There has been a lot of construction on those roads and we have timed the rides perfectly. The conditions are a big improvement from 5 years ago on Desert Lake Rd .

You were missed this year... Campnride '17 will probably happen too.  :good2:

No, I wasn't holding up a camera in my left hand to take the shot. But I know it looks suspicious. At least the speedometer in this frame grab is within bounds for Ontario.

So now on to Day 2.  After we poured ourselves out of bed Saturday morning, and brushed the fur from our mouths we eventually got our asses on the road.  The weather was near perfect with temps just below 20degC or high 60's F.  Great for full gear and now sweat.  There were five FJ's ranging from '84-'92, and Andrew's "baby FJ" FZ600.  The route was near identical to last year's Day 2, so I decided to do more with less again.  Each video deals with a single road.

The first video is most of Wesport Rd, which meanders until it reaches the village of Fermoy and briefly follows the shores of Wolfe Lake.  This it where it suddenly turns from lazy to fun for a few minutes.  This year I didn't overshoot the decreasing radius hairpin/switchback.  :blum1:

The second video is from Bolingbroke Rd. a few minutes further north.  This runs up to the village of Maberly on Hwy 7.  At this point we are only 90 min from our nations capitol Ottawa, or about 3hrs slabbing it to home for me(4-6hrs on the scenic route).  We then stopped for a break (pic'd above) in Perth.

I've mentioned before that the 170deg view of the cam stretches the corners out and makes them seem less twisty.

Anyhow, I may have one or two more left to post for Day 2 in another week or so.
