Been with my wife for over 30 too. Can't imagine your pain. I'd like to think that you will soon enjoy fun memories of her with friends and family as you create a new and enjoyable life with her in your heart.
Take care,
Mike

Waricle, I'm sorry to hear about your wife.  I couldn't imagine what I be like if I lost my wife.  You're in a tough spot, but it will get better.  Lean on family & friends, even us biker scum here.  Don't be a hermit!  Get out, live, laugh, love.  It will be hard, but do it.  You'll be better off than if you stay home & sulk.
Hang in there, brother.

Oh Man sorry for the loss of your wife. I have battled Melanoma twice in my life to. Its a prick of a disease
and kills more people in NZ than road fatalities. Im not going to do the cliche thing and say it gets easier
with time, coz it dosent. Because our wives and partners are a huge part of our lives. And when they arent
there its shear hell. but I guess acceptance comes along at some time.

Take care my friend.

Live hardy, or go home.

Thank you all for your support.

I've just arrived home after a two-week break.

I decided I had to get the hell out of Dodge before I had to face those awful details that needed attention.

Loaded up the windsurfers and some golf clubs and took off down south to visit friends, go sailing and play

some golf.

A good trip though happy/sad at times.

Friends are lifesavers, where would we be without them?

Had some company for the trip back home which made it easier that coming home alone to an empty house.

Picked up my Joe Rocket perforated leather pants today from the Post Office.

Tried the pants on, looked out the window, saw it was raining and took them off.

Tomorrow....
I've often been asked, 'What do you old folks do now that you're retired'?

"Well. I'm fortunate to have a chemical engineering background, and one of the things I enjoy most is turning beer, wine, Scotch, and margaritas into urine."

 Waricle,
Very good to hear from you. Been wondering after your whereabouts and well being lately, I'm glad you were appreciating the good. I hear ya on the rain, at least it  wasn't the snow here yesterday morning, still went for a ride though in the evening. Gotta do what ya gotta do.

Having just lost my favorite uncle (the one who first turned me onto motorcycles) i can relate to the mindset of losing a loved one.... as bad as it hurts to lose an uncle i cannot begin to understand what it must be like to have lost a long term partner like you have.

my thoughts and prayers go out for you during your time of grief.

i like to think that we move onto a better place after this life is done and at some point we will all meet again on the other side.

i know some dont believe this is the way it is but if a catapillar can turn into a beautiful butterfly then anything is possible.

who needs warp speed when we will be able to travel at the speed of thought!.... the ultimate Kookaloo!

remember we are all here for ya brother!

Take care and as T Roy likes to say... Peace N love

Waricle,

I have been reading the posts and your replies on your loss and life changing event. I never know what to say at time like this so I mostly just stay in background, but I felt the need to reach out. I had lost my father three years ago and even after that short amount time I have kind of blanked it out. You chose to share with us and I felt compelled to read every post. I now remember some very happy moments that shaped my life. He took me on my first motorcycle ride when I was about 5 (bungee corded in front of him) on his Kawasaki 500 triple. After a few passes up and down the block I said I wanted to go faster. He went faster, he wheelied up and then back down the street and asked me it that was fast enough. Totally shocked, my response was that I wanted to go fast.....But NOT THAT FAST!!!!! (My first Kookalooo moment, and not my last). I don't express this for attention to my story, just how I can relate and how your sharing was a good thing for me. Thanks.

I hope you find the comfort and joy in remembering the good parts. The pain is still there, and I feel with you in a kindred way.  You have a spare room any time you want to visit sunny Southern California and ride the twisty roads here.

Oh shit, it's Friday night April 23rd, and I just came across this post.  It fills me with fear.
I can not even imagine living without my Jannie....I do not want to go there, yet...

waricle (I don't know your name) if you wish to get away, please come over for a visit. Come to our WCR.
We will get a FJ for you to ride. Just fly into Palm Springs, CA. or Ontario, CA. or LAX. with your toothbrush and riding gear and we will handle the rest.  Have you met Klavdy yet? He will be here for the WCR.

I'm so sorry for the late reply.

Sending good thoughts your way...
Pat
