I have a very busy schedule next week before leaving for Bermagui so last night was cut off time for having the bike ready. The very last job before putting it back on the ground was a quick visual inspection of my tyres. I figured the tyre had just enough left in it to get me there as it is 2000km of curves and should be dry. Hmm, a couple of staples in the rear. The first flicked out with my finger, the second one felt bad as soon as I grabbed it with the pliers.

$303 and a huge favour (that was someone elses tyre) on short notice later, I'm back on track.

See you Friday night guys.

That's a new Metzeler 01 (that Pete also mentioned) The tyre I replaced was a PR4.

I replaced a set of Metzeler Z8's with the PR4's in March and have never been thrilled with them, the Z8's were better. I am hoping the new Metzelers are better again, early reports suggest they will be.

The PR4's certainly live up to the mileage claims but not the grip. They are a great tyre but the Metzeler is better.

IMO

Jools I have a couple of spare bikes and I can pick you up and drop you home.
If you need to borrow a bike for a while that's fine to.

Tony & Richard, are you coming by Nowra on the way?

I'm going to pull the carbies to re-jet in Bermi, so wanted to leave early, but that is now going to change as SWMBO reminded me of a kiddie commitment I can't get out of, so I'll probably be heading off just after midday.

Jools, you can swap onto the 1100 at Nowra if you want, new tyres, and oil change done & she's waiting for a rider....

Everyone, I'll be bringing my shim kit & carbie tune thingy so if anyone wants to do a shim swapmeet, fix shims or balance carbies we'll be ready. I believe Pete also has a carbie tune balancing thingy as well.
