Was just wondering if the sender unit inside the tank would stop the fuel pump from working while the reserve switch was set to on and not reserve, my gauge is working, I have a full tank but the fuel pump will not engage in the on postion, I have to switch to reserve to activate the pump.

Sounds like the switch may not be working in the ON position. If your fuel light is burning bright then it may be the sensor attached to the float.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Don't have a fuel light, its a abs model and I thought the reserve switch was a single pole switch, in other words when switch is set to on it does nothing but when you switch it to reserve it sends voltage but I may be wrong, i would think the fuel sender unit would have to cut off the pump when the tank gets low on fuel so you know to switch over to reserve, what else would do that, im just thinking that part of the sender unit is malfunctioning but again im not sure.
