I just picked up a Radian with a title, bad motor.

Have an extra FJ motor - been doing a little thinking......

Google brought this example up:

Quote06/24/2015 - Mark's Radian - Ok, Mark's Radian was already in the gallery.  He's done something truly amazing with it now, though.  Imagine a Radian with an FJ1200 motor stuffed in it.  Now take a look at one.   Daaaaaamm!

The engine is a modified FJ1200 engine.  Mark and his son managed to get it into the frame with some modification and fabrication.  Mark says it puts out 138 hp.  The swingarm has been lengthened six inches.  Knock it down a gear and give it the gas at 45, 55, or 65 mph, and the rear tire lights up.  Wow!  That's crazy!  Be careful, guys!  Thanks for sharing the photos and story!

Thoughts?

Anyone on how extensive the frame mods would be?

Ground clearance on that example would be a concern of mine, but easily addressed -

Finding a Radian with a dodgy engine and having a spare known good FJ1200 engine. I would do the swap in a heartbeat.  :gamer: :dance2:

I am sure that there are more than a few that exist and the requirements to make it work should be accessible online from various sources.

I say take the leap.  :drinks:
