I've got a question pertaining to my upgrade,i understand the wire ring cushion ring get tossed correct?not being a idiot but does the cushion seat get tossed also?

Mark Olson

yes.

sounds like you are putting a full size fibre disc in . It will become clear as you reassemble.

I'm adding a oem clutch spring also.

Mark Olson

sounds like the same set up I am running ... 1 extra full size disc in place of the half size and doubled up on the diaphram spring. No slip ever ,.. well except the rear wheel spinning.

I was gonna try only the new spring first.then try both,in kinda worried it'll cause my slave to start leaking with the added pressure

I rode her after work tonight, she's really slippin bad now, clutch can't get here quick enough,

Mark Olson

well if you still have the stock clutch master then I would agree with just one spring.  I did this on another FJ and it was plenty clutch with the extra disc.

I have found You don't need to double up the spring unless you are hauling a lot of weight .. like body mass or luggage.

Make sure you soak the new fibres in oil overnight before installing , or it will be grabby.

thanks for the insight, hope I get the clutch parts soon, not worried to much about the install,i am worried about the clutch hcover boots being seized, think I'll ride the bike before I try to loosen those bolt, heat may easy their removal

you are in the double the spring range.  get a Clutch master from an FJR 1300 ... looks just like an fj one so it matches  and your hand wont get worn out in traffic.

as for the slave leaking , I rebuilt mine when I upgraded my clutch and it has not leaked yet ... bout 8 yrs ago now.
